Top quality commercial grade natural corks are very expensive, but lower quality natural corks have holes that can form a path right through the cork, a common problem with most of the cheap natural corks on the homebrew market.
This cork is made from medium quality natural cork, so its affordable. However, the holes have been filled woth compressed cork particles. The result is a cork as good as a top quality natural cork, but much more affordable.

All Craft Range corks are siliconised, so there is no need to soak. If you really want to sterilize them, simple soak them for a few minutes in a lukewarm solution of equal amounts of sulphite and citric acid, and then dry them with a clean cloth.
